Philadelphia’s own Jesus Martinez will step in for Dante Rivera and face former UFC welterweight, Nah-Shon Burrel at Bellator 108 at REVEL in Atlantic City, New Jersey on November 15th.
Martinez will now join his brother, Will Martinez on the Bellator 106 card. The 29-year-old had a two fight win streak snapped when he lost a welterweight title shot against George Sullivan at Cage Fry Fighting Championships 26. Martinez has yet to earn a victory over a big name, but has picked up impressive regional wins over Chip Pollard, Tiawan Howard, and Christopher Wing. Martinez will face one of his toughest test yet as he looks to re-enter the win coulmn by defeating Burrell.
At UFC 157, Burrell had a successful UFC debut when he defeated Yuri Silva via unanimous decision. Burrell went (1-1) inside the UFC all together, it was a decision lost to Stephen Thompson that put Burell out the door. Burrell re-entered the win column by defeating Mike Wade at Richmond Rumble MMA. Burrell will have the chance to add on to the sole victory when he faces Martinez
