With Bellator 83 coming on December seventh back in Atlantic City, doors are open for many up and coming local fighters. One of these fighters is thirty year old Liam McGeary. McGeary moved from England and came to Lake Como, New Jersey. He began training at Pellegrino Mixed Martial Arts and also with a long time coach Frank Ursino. In England he had compiled a professional record of (2-0). Since he has been in the states, he has had one fight. He fought at Ring of Combat 41 and took on undefeated light heavyweight Walter Howard. McGeary has been training there for less than a year and is already moving on to big things. Yesterday it was confirmed that McGeary has signed a long term contract with Bellator Fighting Championships on his birthday. With Bellator just having their light heavyweight tournament summer series, this opens up a great opportunity for McGeary. One win could possibly earn him in the running for a tournament spot. For now McGeary will get his first test on December 7th in the Bellator Cage, right here in New Jersey.
