Former UFC welterweight Nah-Shon “The Rock-N-Rolla” Burrell (14-6) will fight at middleweight to meetThe Ultimate Fighter 19 contestant Tim “The South Jersey Strangler” Williams (12-3) at CFFC 59 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania July 9.
Burrell is currently riding a three-fight win streak with wins over Ryan Dickson, Chris Curtis and Dustin Long. Burrell’s last defeat came from a rear-naked choke to current UFC welterweight Lyman Good at CFFC 48.
The Philadelphia native is a two-time UFC vet with one unanimous decision win against Yuri Villefort at UFC 157 Feb. 23, 2013. Burrell is a former Strikeforce fighter and a three-time Bellator veteran.
Burrell will stand across from another experienced fighter and former CFFC middleweight champion. Williams’ last ten fights occurred inside the CFFC cage, collecting a (7-3) record with the promotion.
Williams earned notable wins against Ruslan Melikov, Walter Howard and Ronald Stallings.
Williams first chance on TUF came in the 17th season as Dylan Andrews beat “The Southe Jersey Strangler” by unanimous decision to earn his bid into the house. After his fight with Andrews impressed UFC president Dana White, Williams earned another invite two seasons later.
Williams defeated Bojan Velickovic via TKO in the third round.to earn his spot on TUF. After being chosen to Team B.J. Penn, Diego Lima eliminated Williams by defeating him via second-round rear-naked choke.
The 29-year-old is coming into this bout on a two-fight win streak.
