Thales Leites will replace Rafael Natal and take on Ed “Short Fuse” Herman at UFC 167. Natal replaced an open slot to face Tim Kennedy in the Fight for the Troops 3 headliner. that left open a door for Leites to look for another win in his second stint with the UFC. The bout is scheduled for November 16th at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The one time UFC middleweight title challenger, Leites went (6-1) outside the octagon after being cut. Leites was on a thee fight win streak when he was re-signed by the UFC to face Tom Watson. Leites went on to win by unanimous decision, proving he still belongs under the UFC lights.
In January, Herman received the OK to fight inside the Strikeforce cage to face Ronaldo Souza. Things did not go his way when he was submitted via kimura in the opening round. In his most recent outing,”Short Fuse” defeated Trevor Smith by split decision at UFC on FOX 8. Herman is (4-1-1) in his last six bouts.
