Undefeated welterweight Jonovin “Spyder” Webb (8-0) signed with the Ultimate fighting Championships yesterday, joining Renzo Gracie Philly teammate Paul Felder.

“I believe that I am ready,” Webb said. “More than anything I like to perform and competing in front of my family and friends, what better place to do it than the biggest stage in the world, the UFC.”

Training in New Mexico alongside UFC lightweights Paul Felder and Donald Cerrone, Webb has also trained with fellow welterweight, Kyle Noke . Today, UFC announced Webb will replace Andreas Stahl and fight Noke at UFC Fight Night 65.

“@KyleNoke is one of the toughest guys I know. Gotta take the opportunity tho. Just signed with the nfl of mma,” Webb said via twitter. After scuba diving and attending rodeos together these two welterweight will stand across from one another in the octagon.

The bout will take place in Noke’s home country on May 10, 2015 at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre in Adelaide, Australia.

A jiu-jitsu black belt under Daniel Gracie, Webb was set to defend his Cage Fury Fighting Championship title against Lyman Good on May 9 at CFFC 48. Their first meeting led to a no contest.

Webb defeated Elijah Harshbarger via first round guillotine choke at CFFC 47. Webb is the owner of four submission victories, two technical knockout finishes and two decisions.

In August of 2014, Webb finished Daniel Stittgen via third round technical knockout. Stittgen is the only former UFC veteran Webb has faced.

Webb joins former CFFC welterweight champion, George Sullivan on the UFC roster.

Although Webb has never fought in the UFC before, he has his goals set.

“I don’t want to be like these guys who just said they made it. I want to be a guy who left a mark behind and left a legacy,” Webb said. “Belts and records will never ad up to the feeling you get after winning any fight.”
