Bellator MMA returns to Revel hotel & casino in Atlantic City, N.J. on May 2nd, as the self proclaimed “Baddest man on the planet,” Joe Warren, takes on the winner of Eduardo Dantas vs. Rafael Silva for the Bellator bantamweight championship.
The former Bellator featherweight champion, Warren won the Bellator season 9 bantamweight tournament as he defeated Travis Marx via 2nd round TKO. Warren went home with $100,000 and a shot at Bellator gold. In the semi-finals of the tournament, Warren met Nick Kirk. Warren went on to dominate Kirk, eventually finishing the fight via submission in round 2. To earn his spot in the tournament, Warren defeated Owen Evinger via unanimous decision at Bellator 80 in November of 2012.
I know what it’s like to have the belt wrapped around my waist, and I’m getting it back on May 2nd,” Warren said. “I’ve only been in MMA for about five years, and I feel like I’m just hitting my groove now. I feel great, I feel explosive, I love Bellator, and I want that belt.”
