UFC lightweight champion, Anthony Pettis will no longer be the only Pettis to step inside the octagon. It was announced earlier today that 20-year-old Sergio “The Phenom” Pettis (9-0) will make his debut at UFC 167 against Vaughan Lee (13-9-1). Pettis will meet Lee on November 16th at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
“The Phenom” earned a submission victory this past weekend over James Porter in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Previous to his most recent bout, Pettis earned the Resurrection Fighting Alliance’s flyweight title by defeating Dilliard Pegg. Pettis has finished six of his fights via finish.
Standing across from Pettis is Vaughan Lee. Lee is (2-3) inside the octagon. Lee has not been very consistent inside the octagon, winning on and off. In his most recent outing he suffered a submission loss to Raphael Assuncao at June’s “UFC on FUEL TV 10: Nogueira vs. Werdum 2. Lee has wins over Motonobu Tezuka and MMA legend Norifumi “Kid” Yamamoto.
