Bill Algeo replaces Jared Gordon at CFFC 62

Cage Fury Fighting Championship title holder Jared Gordon (11-1 MMA, 7-1 CFFC) is out of his CFFC 62 bout with Andy Main (11-2 MMA, 2-1 CFFC) at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Dec. 17, 2016.

Replacing the champion will be Bill Algeo (8-2 MMA, 6-1 CFFC) who will fight Main for the interim CFFC featherweight title. Algeo is coming off back-to-back wins against Jeff Lentz and Anthony Smith. inside the CFFC cage,

Algeo’s last defeat came at the hands of Shane Burgos who signed with UFC on Nov. 27, 2016. Burgos submitted Algeo via rear-naked choke at round two in CFFC 42 Oct. 25, 2014.

This bout will mark Algeo’s second fight of 2016, his only other bout this year is a win against Lentz.

Andy Main fought over a year ago when he won the Pancrase featherweight strap by defeating former UFC featherweight Nam Pham by fourth-round triangle choke at Pancrase 270 Oct. 5, 2015. Main is riding a three-fight win streak by finishing Hiroyuki Oshiro and Akitoshi Tamura under the Pancrase banner.

His last defeat came from inside the CFFC cage when Kenny Foster earned a split decision win at CFFC 36 in June 2014.Main made his CFFC debut by defeating Sylvain Bynum via first-round rear-naked choke at CFFC 19, Feb. 2, 2013.
